Vehicle Repair Questions & Answers

How much is it going to cost to fix my vehicle?

Every vehicle and every repair is different. Parts and labor costs can vary depending on the make, model, and what the vehicle actually needs. To give you an accurate estimate, we first need to properly diagnose the vehicle. Once we know what’s causing the problem, we’ll explain what we found and give you a clear estimate for the repairs. Whenever possible, we’ll also provide pictures or videos of what we found so you can better understand the problem and what your vehicle needs.

Do I need an appointment to have my vehicle diagnosed?

Appointments are recommended so we can make sure we have enough time to properly look at your vehicle. We’re happy to accept walk-ins when our schedule allows, but because our workload can change throughout the day, we may not always be able to diagnose your vehicle the same day. We recommend calling ahead or scheduling an appointment online so we can give your vehicle the proper time and attention.

How much does it cost to diagnose my vehicle?

Our diagnostic rate is $180 per hour, with a one-hour minimum. Our regular repair labor rate is $151 per hour. We obtain your approval before performing chargeable diagnostic work. If additional diagnostic time is needed, we’ll explain the cost and contact you for authorization before continuing. We will not exceed the amount you approve without contacting you first.

How long does transmission repair or auto repair take?

The time needed depends on what we find, the type of repair, and parts availability. Once we’ve inspected and diagnosed the vehicle, we’ll give you a realistic timeframe and keep you updated if anything changes.

Do your transmission and auto repairs come with a warranty?

Yes. We warranty our work. Warranty terms vary depending on the repair and the parts being used, and we’ll explain the warranty that applies to your repair when we provide your estimate.

Can I bring my own parts for an auto repair?

We recommend using parts we source so we can stand behind the repair with a warranty. If you have your own parts, let us know and we can discuss it with you. Warranty coverage may be limited to labor only, or we may decline the repair depending on the parts.

Do you work with extended warranty companies for transmission and auto repairs?

Yes. We work with extended warranty companies. Every warranty company has its own coverage, requirements, and approval process. We’ll provide the information they require for the repair and keep you informed about what they approve, what they don’t cover, and any remaining costs before moving forward.

Will you contact me before performing additional repairs or adding charges?

Yes. If we discover additional work is needed or something changes during the repair, we’ll explain what we found and get your approval before moving forward with additional repairs or charges. We want you to understand what your vehicle needs and what you’re approving.

What warranty comes with an in-house transmission rebuild?

Our in-house transmission rebuilds come with a 2-year/24,000-mile local parts and labor warranty. When we provide your transmission rebuild estimate, we’ll explain the warranty that applies to that particular repair so you understand the coverage before approving the work.

What warranty comes with a remanufactured transmission?

Most remanufactured transmissions we install come with a 3-year/100,000-mile nationwide warranty. Warranty coverage can vary depending on the remanufacturer and the particular transmission being installed. When we provide your estimate, we’ll explain the specific warranty that comes with the remanufactured transmission being quoted.

What is the difference between a rebuilt transmission and a remanufactured transmission?

With an in-house transmission rebuild, we remove the transmission from your vehicle and rebuild it here at our shop. We use updated components when available to address common wear areas and known issues. Our in-house transmission rebuilds come with a 2-year/24,000-mile local parts and labor warranty.

A remanufactured transmission is a complete transmission assembly rebuilt by a professional remanufacturing company and shipped to our shop ready for installation. Most remanufactured units are also rebuilt with updated components to address common wear areas and known issues. Most of the units we install come with a 3-year/100,000-mile nationwide warranty.

When we provide your estimate, we’ll explain both options and their warranties so you can choose.
